Pete Davidson is a comedian. He makes jokes. People laugh, usually. This time around, one of his lines during Saturday Night Live upset some of his viewers. The subject at hand: birth control.
He joked about trapping his fiance Ariana Grande with a baby, assuming that knocking her up would force her to stay in the relationship.
"Last night I switched her birth control with Tic-Tacs...I believe in us and all, but I just want to make sure that she can't go anywhere."
Lots of Twitter users took to social media in order to air out their grievances and disappointment with Davidson's sense of humor. Some pointed out the fact that birth control sabotage is an actual form of abuse that shouldn't be taken lightly. Others expressed genuine concern for Ariana's well-being. Many are simply done with Davidson's comedic style.
The humorist got major backlash for other jokes in the past. One major instance that garnered much criticism was his attempt to bring some kind of levity to the Manchester bomb attack. His joke essentially propped up Ariana Grande as being one of the biggest stars in the world, considering that nobody ever bombed a Britney Spears concert.
This birth control thing might not even make a dent in his conscience, given the gravity of those past remarks.
