This past year has been a big one for Normani. She earned a hit with her Khalid collaboration called "Love Lies" and garnered comparisons to Beyonce, a compliment she kindly rejected. According to a recent interview, 2019 is set to be an even bigger year for the artist as she prepares to roll out her debut album. One of the highlights that came to mind when she was asked about the project's creative process was her working with Pharrell.
"I had a session with Pharrell, he was really dope. Honestly, he's hype. Especially when he's feeling a record. He like, does this dance. He's awesome." She continued, stating how enthralling it was to witness the producer in his element: "Honestly, he's a mastermind. I love seeing the greats at work. Even though it was my session, I was like, 'I just want to sit back and what you do what you do.' He's very encouraging and he was equally as excited as I was."
Normani didn't confirm any specifics about the joints she chose for the album, but fans can expect to hear Pharrell's sound.
"We're working through all those things. There's definitely a couple. We bust out a few in, like, a day."
She also spoke about the excitement surrounding her joining Ariana Grande's tour. Peep the video below.
