Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" remix with Billy Ray Cyrus continues to lead the Billboard Hot 100. According to Billboard, the country-infused hit-track has been charting for its seventh consecutive week. The latter was supported by a calculation which considered all-genre U.S. streaming, radio airplay, and digital sales. The total weekly U.S. streams for the popular song consists of 103.1 million streams garnered in the week ending May 16th. And considering the release of its music video, the volume for "Old Town Road" is expected to further increase on next week's chart calculation (which will be dated June 1st). As for the Digital Song Sales chart, the viral track is down one spot with 69K downloads sold in the week ending on May 16th.
The chart-leading news is timely considering Lil Nas X announced he would be dropping an EP next month. The 20-year-old rapper shared the partial tracklist for the upcoming project, entitled 7. As such, fans are expecting the best from the artist and we hope he can distance himself from the allegations of being a one-hit wonder. While we wait on the project, however, we can only applaud the records that "Old Town Road" is smashing. Congratulations, Lil Nas X.
