John Wick: Chapter 3 -- Parabellum hit theatres this past Friday and was well-received. Following the set expectations that the third installment would dethrone Avengers: End Game from its cushioned seat at the top of the box office, the numbers related to the movie reflected a strong debut. The Keanu Reeves-led film and Halle Berry-accompanied racked in a total of $22.67 million dollars from Friday alone and is expected to surpass the superhero flick by the end of the weekend. The latter stems from projection sales estimated from its premiere in 3,850 North American movie theatres.
While the movie is truly fresh out the oven, directors behind the franchise have reportedly already begun to tease the fourth installment. According to HYPEBEAST, movie director Chad Stahelski recently sat down with Reddit to answer fan questions in an AMA (Ask-Me-Anything) event. And although most thought the third chapter would be the end of the movies, Stahelski answered that "the fate of a fourth installment would be up to the fans and the results at the box office." Hence the recent movie's reception is crucial to making the decision here.
Despite these comments, the director may have accidentally teased that the fourth chapter was already in the works. Precisely, when a fan asked which John Wick movie was the toughest to make, Stahelski mentioned four films instead of three: "Number four, I’m certain, will be more difficult," were his exact words. Therefore it is fair to say we might get a John Wick: Chapter 4 in the future.
