Joey Bada$$ confirms that he also co-wrote Post Malone's hit single "Rockstar."

It was revealed earlier today that T-Pain & Joey Bada$$ were originally featured on Post Malone’s hit single “Rockstar” before 21 Savage was later added to it. This news was confirmed by T-Pain earlier on Twitter when he responded to a fan after they complimented his verse on the “so-called” remix that leaked earlier this week. T-Pain wrote, "That’s the original. They took me off. And put 21 on. Me and Joey had it first.”

After reporting this news & tweeting it out, Joey decided to chime in and not only confirm this report, but he add some further information about the origin of the record, revealing that he actually co-wrote the song with Post Malone.

“This is facts,” he responded to our [HNHH] tweet with. “I actually co-wrote the song w post :) quietly got my first #1 off that more ghostwriting in 2018.”

However, Post Malone’s version of how the record came to be is a little different. Back in September, the Stoney rapper chopped it up with Billboard and NEVER once mentioned T-Pain being part of it, and he said Joey was simply in the studio, not actually involved in the writing.

“I was in New York, and we were at Quad Studios,” he said. “Some kid came in, and I guess he was in the session next door and he was like, “Hey? Can I play you some beats?” I’m like, “I guess so.” You know, I’m a nice guy, I like music. I’ll listen to your beats. He played the beat and it was incredible. His name is Tank. He’s a really young guy, and a really talented producer. So we did that, and Joey Bada$$ was in there. We were just vibing on it and the melody was sick. We just cut like a little scratch vocal and we took it back to LA. I finished my part and sent it off to [21] Savage — and there it is.”

Check out Joey's tweet, and be sure to wish him congrats for his first lowkey #1 single.
