One of the biggest songs of the year was Post Malone and 21 Savage's "Rockstar" collaboration. The song took off on the charts and ultimately became the first number one single for Post Malone and 21 Savage to have in their careers. Rightfully so, it was a massive anthem that maintained it's position on the Billboard Hot 100 for a few weeks and the two of them even dropped off a stellar video to match. However, it seems that 21 Savage's verse wasn't on the initial version of the song.
Earlier this week, an alleged leak of the remix to "Rockstar" surfaced without 21 Savage and additional verses from T-Pain and Joey Bada$$ which many assumed would be the official remix to the song. However, it turns out the version that leaked was actually the original. T-Pain responded to a fan on Twitter after they complimented his verse on the remix. He wrote, "That’s the original. They took me off. And put 21 on. Me and Joey had it first." Sadly, it seems like we won't be getting a full HQ version of that, or at least not soon.
Aside from the feature, T-Pain's been coming back into the music game in full force. In the fall, the singer went on an acoustic mini-tour throughout select dates in the U.S. where he performed stripped down versions of his classic hits. Shortly after, he dropped off his highly anticipated album Oblivion and has also been dropping off some dope guest appearances, such as his verse on "Rockstar." Hopefully we get more T-Pain in the new year.
