Despite her on-and-off social media activity, Jhené Aiko remains one of the top dogs among all female R&B vocalists. Her mysterious nature makes it difficult to tell when she's dropping new music. In fact, the last song she released came from out of nowhere as the "Wasted Love Freestyle" just about confirmed her break-up with Big Sean out of the blue. It feels like she may be gearing up to release a new album in 2019 but nothing has been confirmed yet. The feeling is only intensified because of the video Jhené shared over the weekend.
Her Instagram page has gone from active to disconnected about a hundred times this year, which makes it difficult for fans to keep up with what she's been up to. She likely wants it that way though. This weekend, Jhené let us in on something she crafted in the studio recently, uncovering the "Triggered" freestyle as a short snippet. The video only runs for a few seconds but Aiko's beautiful vocals are soothing as she sadly reminisces on how hurt she's been in love. "I'm triggered when I see your face/Triggered when I hear your name," sings Jhené.
In the caption, the crooner shares her current state of mind, writing, "hello, my name is Jhené and i am not ok." Hopefully, all is well with her.
