With every passing year, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, and Eminem continue to prove why they are living legends in the rap community. While each of the three continues to release music and Snoop even dabbling in a number of genres, they will always be seen as some of the best to grace a microphone. Snoop Dogg's most recent gospel album was received so well that it reached the top spot on Billboard's gospel chart. But what is it that makes them so good at what they do?
Each has a level of listenability that has been characteristic of their music for years, setting them apart from the one-hit-wonders. On the upcoming Netflix special My Next Guest Needs No Introduction, Jay-Z gave his proper explanation on what makes Em and Snoop so good. "I think Snoop Dogg has a great voice. Like, he can say 'one, two, three and to the four' and it's like 'Oh my god,'" remarked Jay while speaking with David Letterman. On Eminem, Hov praised his cadence and syncopation as being like elements of percussion in his songs, acting uniquely as their own element in the mix. Of course, Jay gives his best impression of both rappers as he attempts to recreate their respective styles.
The Netflix special with David Letterman will be released on April 7, following Letterman's conversations with Barack Obama, Geroge Clooney, and Malala Yousafzai. Check out what Jay had to say below.
