Gucci Mane has been trying to pay somebody a million dollars to work with him for a minute. The Atlanta superstar began by offering a $1 million contract to Gunna, leading Young Thug to let him know he had already signed him to a deal. Next, Wop attempted to facilitate a Rich Gang reunion between Thugger and Rich Homie Quan, offering another million in cash. Finally, it looks as though somebody took him up on his offer as, according to Gucci's Instagram story, Metro Boomin came out of retirement for a single day to produce with him to the tune of $1 million in cold, hard cash.
Metro shocked us all last week by hinting at his impending disappearance from the rap game, changing his Instagram bio to read, "Retired record producer/DJ." While he may continue into his golden years as a retired musician, he seemingly returned for a day to work with Gucci Mane on the tentative intro track to the star's upcoming project Evil Genius. Gucci was up early this morning, updating his Instagram story to show him rising from his slumber, waking up to Metro Boomin cooking up beats in his home. Before "Polar Bear Laflare" recorded a verse to the instrumental Metro had made minutes prior, he showed off a flurry of platinum plaques, reminding us of his legendary status.
In the final addition to his IG story, Wop revealed that he had paid the producer $1 million to exit his retirement for a day, hinting that they may be working on more throughout the day. To hear a snippet of the track they worked on, head to Gucci's Instagram story.
