With Game Of Thrones around the corner, HBO has decided to go out with a bang on the musical tip. As such, the network has teamed with Columbia records to line up For The Throne: Music Inspired By Game Of Thrones. Remember, this is not to be confused with the official soundtrack, which will feature all original compositions by Ramin Djawadi.

While the companion album is riddled with a strong hip-hop presence, the two songs in questions are not included under that particular umbrella. Though should you count yourself among the more open-minded, perhaps you'll find something to enjoy here. "Kingdom of One" by Maren Morris and "Nightshade" by the Lumineers have officially be unveiled, and you can check out both singles below. For the most part, the songs appear to be tenuously linked to Thrones on a thematic level, with "Nightshade" in particular featuring several allusions to political machinations and royalty. Perhaps we'll see some of the rappers involved taking a more direct approach in honoring the source material.
Game Of Thrones season 8 premieres this Sunday on HBO, and For The Throne is set to drop on April 26th. Look for appearances from Travis Scott, SZA, & The Weeknd (who are all rumored to be on the same track), Ty Dolla Sign, ASAP Rocky, Joey Bada$$$, Chloe X Halle, and Lil Peep.
