When the news of Demi Lovato's overdose broke yesterday, the music and entertainment communities were shocked. She had previously been clean for six years, singing about her strength and willingness to power through. However, addiction is one hell of a disease and it struck again, causing her to relapse and overdose on what was initially believed to be heroin. The entertainer's team is denying any heroin use and when she was asked by EMTs what she had consumed before OD'ing, she allegedly refused to answer. Now, more information is making its way to the public about what led to her hospitalization and it appears she was partying all night before she was found unresponsive in her home.
TMZ is reporting that she held a party at her home after celebrating one of her backup dancers birthdays. Apparently, the partygoers were not present at her Hollywood Hills space when police showed up at around noon yesterday but they did photograph multiple drug remnants and paraphernalia in the residence. According to The Blast, one of Demi's nurses revealed that she had been using methamphetamine before her overdose and although it is unclear whether meth was the cause of her overdose, it is a possibility.
There is no criminal investigation happening at the time being. As we've previously stated, Demi has been reported to be awake and responsive with family members. Get well soon!
