Cardi B is about to experience yet another career milestone. The Bronx rapper, who already has a Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 as well as gold and multi-platinum singles, will make her SNL debut on April 7th. As announced on last night's show, Cardi will serve as the musical guest on the program, while Black Panther's Chadwick Boseman will host. In other words, this is must-see TV.
Cardi has yet to make an announcement herself, but both the SNL Twitter account and Boseman have shared the big news.
At the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards last weekend, Cardi announced that her debut album would arrive in April. She has yet to announce a proper release date, but the announcement of her SNL appearance shows that she's getting the promo train ready for the LP.
Earlier this month, Cardi B's fiancé Offset and his group Migos appeared as the musical guests on SNL. Watch them do renditions of Culture II's "Stir Fry" and "Narcos."
It was recently reported that Cardi is pregnant and due in July. The rapper has yet to confirm or deny these reports.
Tune in April 7th at 11:30 on NBC to see the show. No doubt Twitter will be providing rolling commentary on this episode.
