The hottest film release of the entire year so far took place this weekend with audiences rushing to see Avengers: Endgame in their local theatre. As expected, the movie banked over a billion dollars during its premiere weekend, potentially already becoming the biggest opening of the entire year. With the next phase of the MCU set to begin soon, fans wanted to see how the film would tie together all the missing pieces from over twenty films and most people left with tears in their eyes. Even though many of your favourite heroes were in the flick, there were still a few that were missing. With the Marvel universe taking up so much room in recent film history, a few characters were not able to get screen-time during the Endgame, which was explained by two of the screenwriters.

During a new interview with the New York Times, Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely spoke about decisions that they had to make behind-the-scenes, including characters that they had to cut from early versions of the script. One of the people missing out was the Living Tribunal. "We did try to put the Living Tribunal in the first movie," said Markus. "We wrote a scene in which he appeared during the Titan fight. And everyone was like, ‘What?’ He’s got three heads. It would indicate a whole different level of architecture to the universe and I think that was too much to just throw in."

With the launch of an upcoming X-Men movie soon, they were also absent from Endgame. As noted by Hypebeast, the Fantastic Four were also not legally allowed to be written into the film. Read the full interview here and read our review of Avengers: Endgame here.
