Avengers: Endgame just hit theaters three days ago, but it is already one of the highest grossing films of all time. That comes as no surprise to those who have invested the last decade of their lives into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As a lifelong Marvel fan, and comic collector, I had the honor of writing the Endgame review, which can be found here. Although there were some narrative plot holes, overall, Marvel's epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga was emotionally satisfying and featured the best action from any superhero movie ever released on the big screen. If you haven't seen the movie yet, get ready to laugh, cry, and cheer through the three-hour spectacle.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Endgame brought in an estimated $1.2 billion at the worldwide box office this weekend. Endgame grossed an estimated $859 million overseas, which establishes a new international weekend record, originally held by The Fate of the Furious ($443 million). Raking in over a billion in one weekend proves that Endgame is heading for a world-shattering haul that could place the film as the highest grossing movie of all time. The weekend box office numbers broke several records, including biggest global opening and biggest domestic opening of all time. Where will the MCU go after this emotionally devastating film? We can't wait to find out.
