There’s been a lot of speculation & rumors surrounding the release of Eminem’s highly anticipated 9th studio album Revival. The last we heard is that Revival would be dropping December 8th, and it looks like that’s going to be the case. On Friday, some Eminem Stan’s did some digging and unearthed some information about the album's physical copies. And from the looks of it, the physical copies of Revival will be dropping the week after its digital release on December 15th.
A random fan first spotted the label of Revival (with no CDs though) on the shelf of a Target store at an unnamed location Friday. Then trying to track the DPCI (inventory checker) number, another fan from Reddit was able to find a release date in their system, which was December 15th.
December 15th happens to also fall on a Friday, aka album release day, so all signs are pointing that Revival will be hitting store shelves on the 15th, just in time for Christmas. Meanwhile, digital copies will reportedly be available a week earlier on December 8th presumably to avoid any leaks.
Unfortunately, Eminem and his camp have been extremely quiet when it comes to details surrounding the album, so none of this information hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s looking like the case. Em did however reveal in an interview on Shade 45 last week that Rick Rubin is serving as the executive producer of the album while contributing to 3-4 beats on the LP. In addition, Dr. Dre is also reportedly contributing to a couple records as well.
This news surfaces just a week after Eminem took the stage at SNL to perform the album’s lead single “Walk On Water” with Skylar Grey, although its Beyonce who’s featured on the official version of the record.
Check out the proof of Em’s release date (below) and let us know what you think. We'll be sure to keep you posted if any further information is confirmed or revealed. Stay tuned.
