Dr. Dre is not often seen or heard from, so when he does an interview, even the smallest one, it's sure to make headlines. Recently Dre called in to talk to Big Boy of Big Boy's Neighborhood on Power 106 in L.A., and gave a brief update on his going-ons.
The music industry mogul has been busy prepping a new service to the massive Beats Electronics brand. Dre couldn't really say much on it, but revealed it should be finally dropping at the end of year, after two years of hard work.
Dre said of the endeavor, "The most I can say right now is it's a music subscription service and it's an incredible thing..that's pretty much all I can say about it right now."
In his phone call with Big Boy, Dre gave an update on Eminem's highly anticipated LP, as well as his own music. "Em is finishing up his project," the Aftermath label head confirmed.
He continued, "And for me, I just got inspired again to go back in the studio. I'm really just having fun with life and having fun being creative and trying some new and different things with myself man, just trying to stay active. As you know, it's been almost thirty years for me in music, so it's a little bit difficult to keep getting inspired to get back in there, but you know music is my first love and I'ma continue to do that as long as I can."
No direct mention of Detox sadly, but hopefully we'll at least hear some new Em material in the near future.
