Following the success of Kanye West’s Yeezy line with Adidas, several athletic apparel companies have been trying to follow in suit & scoop up more celebrity endorsers to be their face of their company, particularly rappers & artists. With Kendrick Lamar & Travis Scott going to Nike and Big Sean & The Weeknd partnering with Puma, hip-hop has been representing the footwear department well this past year, and now Reebok is getting into the mix. After recently inking deals with Machine Gun Kelly, Rae Sremmurd, Amber Rose, Future & Gucci Mane, Reebok has now partnered with another ATL rapper in Lil Yachty to help assist spread the word in their new campaign.
The news was announced via Yachty's Instagram page on Wednesday, where he posted a photo of himself rocking a brand new pair of Reebok’s Workout sneaker. The photo's caption simply read, "New addition to Team @reebok 🙂 Thank You Reebok, For This Opportunity. I'm More Than Appreciative.. #Family," Lil Boat thanked the sportswear brand for the partnership.
It should be noted that the deal is a reported “partnership,” which will find Yachty appearing in multiple global campaign ads supporting the Reebok Workout sneaker. Its unclear if he’s going to get his own sneaker, but the ATL rapper will partake in various Reebok events surrounding the brand and its silhouettes. Just another public endorsement & payday for one the Internet's most polarizing artists.
This news of Lil Yachty's Reebok deal comes just days after being spotted working in the studio with Chance The Rapper & Quavo. It's unclear at the moment on where that collab will end up, but fans are definitely eager to hear.
