In celebration of their new partnership, Reebok and the 26-year old Bronx-native both posted an image of Cardi in a black tracksuit with the white Reebok Aztrek sneakers. The kicks - a futuristic, off-road runner that was first introduced in 1993 - have already released in a number of colorways and have been pushed by other Reebok ambassadors such as Lil Yachty and Rae Srummerd.
Cardi took to IG today after the news was announced with a simple message, "If you dont know, now you know. 😏 REEBOK! #Aztrek @Reebok@ReebokClassics #Reebokpartner"
“For us, she really is emblematic of what our brand has done well over the years and that is to be bold, provocative and uninhibited,” said Matthew O’Toole, Reebok’s president. “If we look at some of the things we’ve done with Allen Iverson or being the first to sign musicians, or more recently with Kerby [Jean-Raymond] of Pyer Moss, when we are at our best we are with people who are comfortable living out loud and Cardi fits that.”
It remains to be seen what kind of sneaker/apparel collabs might come of this partnership, but the Cardi-approved Reebok Aztrek is available today in multiple colorways via Reebok.com and other Reebok dealers for $90.
