The relationship was short-lived.

Last week, it was reported XXXTENTACION penned a deal with Capitol Records for $6 million. Today, it seems like he's regretting the idea of signing to a label in the first place.

XXXTENTACION took to his Instagram story to announce that he's deciding to leave Capitol Records. While there isn't much concrete detail behind it, he went on his Instagram story to announce his departure. In large letters, he wrote "Terminating my deal with "capitol records"" and underneath it, it read "I am not a "signed" artist and I will not be releasing music for a very long time. I'm tired of this shit." That's all the information that he shared but it seems like a relatively sporadic decision. There's yet to be a statement from Capitol Records but we will definitely keep you posted on what they have to say about his announcement.

Despite the success of his debut album 17, it's also quite peculiar that he stated he won't be releasing any more music. He's currently at the peak of his career in a lot of ways. He's been a focal point of conversation for the past few months and he's also been previewing new music recently too.

The decision also comes a few days after he announced that he'll be donating $100 K to domestic violence prevention programs. He made a massive statement on his Instagram in what seemed like an effort to try and make things right, despite the fact that he's continued to deny the domestic assault charges that he's faced with. The trial for the domestic abuse charges is slated for December 11th after the defence lawyer's witnesses weren't available to depose. He's currently facing charges of aggravated battery of a pregnant woman, domestic battery by strangulation, false imprisonment and witness tampering in association to the case.

When he initially announced that he signed a deal with Capitol Records, the news was met with backlash by some. Many people wondered exactly why Capitol was signing X in the midst of the domestic abuse allegations. Capitol never made any statements about it either so who knows if the backlash caused further complications in the deal.
