Tiger back?

Tiger Woods is looking to improve upon yesterday's 1-under par performance in the first round of the Valspar Championship, and he's off to a good start today. As of this writing, Woods is three-under par so far in the second round which puts him tied for first with Jimmy Walker and Corey Connors.

Tiger shot a 70 in the first round and entered today three strokes behind Connors for the lead. Here's what he had to say about his first ever round in the tournament.

"I enjoy when par is a good score, it's a reward,'' said Woods, per ESPN. "There are some tournaments when (after) about four holes you don't make a birdie and you feel like you're behind. Today, made a couple of birdies, all of a sudden that puts me fourth, fifth right away. That's how hard it is. It's the reward to go out there and make a couple birdies here and there and I like that type of challenge.''

Woods' playing partners Henrik Stenson and Jordan Spieth weren't as fortunate in the first round. According to ESPN, Stenson shot 74 and Speith struggled to 76. Rory McIlroy also shot a 74.

The second round will continue throughout the day, but as of now Woods is thru 11 holes and is 4-under overall.
