Ric Flair has signed on to take his shtick to the big screen. His on-air personality as typified by his illustrious wrestling career, paints him as a limousine riding, jet flying, kiss-stealing, wheelin' n' dealin' son of a gun.
Producer Brian Kowalchuk has enlisted him to join the cast of Uncle Steamroller & Champion Rabbit, on top of executive producer credits. The plot for the film centers on a disaffected Iraq War Veteran returning home to regain his Heavyweight Title, with the help of a motivational speaker/life coach. Uncle Steamroller, the titular character, is at odds with the commissioner of the Wrestling Federation, played by Flair.
Ric Flair shared his excitement with entertainment tabloid TheWrap:
“I really like this wonderfully written script and find it to be very entertaining. The edgy sense of humor is great, but the story also has a good heart. I’m expecting the inspirational story line will appeal to fans that extend beyond my loyal core wrestling base, and I am seriously looking forward to getting this film in front of worldwide audiences. Wooooooooooooooooo!”
Brian Kowalchuk for his part, is completely jazzed to be adding a touch of authenticity to his screenplay. Ric Flair's ability to tell a story in the ring is second only to his indescribable mystique.
