Sherman has reportedly informed his teammates he's on the way out.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman will reportedly be released by the team within the next few days, and it appears he has already informed some of his teammates that he is on the way out.

Yesterday afternoon it was reported that Sherman was having a meeting with the team to discuss his future in Seattle. Shortly thereafter, some of his Seahawks teammates took to social media hinting at Sherman's departure. Sherman's mother also confirmed the news on Facebook, writing, "I am more than devastated to know that my son will no longer be a Seahawk."

According to CBS Sports, the 29-year old corner back is scheduled to count $13.2 million against the salary cap in 2018, but the Seahawks will get $11 million of that back if he is released, as expected.

Sherman, who was drafted by the Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft, has spent his entire seven-season career in Seattle, which includes four Pro Bowls and three first-team All-Pro selections. He also led the league in interceptions in 2013, the same year Seattle beat the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

The soon-to-be 30-year old corner missed seven games in the 2017 season after suffering a torn right achilles tendon, in addition to having surgery on his left leg this offseason to clean out bone spurs.
