Watch James Harden push & square up with Mario Chalmers in Monday night's Rockets-Grizzlies game.

Monday night, the Houston Rockets hosted the Memphis Grizzlies in a battle of two undefeated Western conference teams. While the games was super close and the Grizzles overcame a 12-point second half deficit to win the game, what everyone is talking about is James Harden’s scuffle with Grizzles’ guard Mario Chalmers.

With the score all tied up at 88-88 and with 2:46 remaining in the fourth quarter, Chalmers took an elbow to the face from Harden and hit the floor pretty hard. Chalmers didn’t appreciate that, and while laying on the ground he tried to trip Harden, who then pushed Chalmers several times, even looking like he wanted to square up for a fight. The refs quickly came to break things up before anything got of hand, but Harden was totally ready to throw down lol.

The officials charged Harden with an offensive foul, before Harden and Chalmers both received technical fouls when play resumed.

Harden’s so-called “square up” has since been the talk of the NBA world on twitter, with fans loving the altercation & making several memes of it. We rounded up some of twitter’s reactions & the altercation itself which you can see for yourself (below).

As for the game itself, Marc Gasol led the Grizzles with 26 points in the victory, while James Harden finished with 22 points, eight assists and five rebounds. But it was the Harden altercation that was the talking point and highlight of the game.
