This evening, the Houston Rocket’s topped Utah’s Jazz by a margin of 7 points—a score that understates just how magnificent the match itself was as James Harden finished off the night with a career-high of 56 point on 25 shots in only 35 minutes of playing time. By the end of the third quarter, he’d already scored 52 of those points.
By the time the game was over, James Harden had seven 3-pointers from 8 attempts, nabbed the esteem of being the first player to score these many points on 25 shots or fewer since Michael Jordan’s February 26, 1987 performance against the New Jersey Nets, and even managed to pad on 13 assists on 91 points.
"I was just shooting it, I don't know," Harden casually relayed in a post-game interview. "I don't really pay too much attention to it. I just try to take good shots and, like I said, pretty much make the right decision. Obviously, I'm going to make mistakes, but as long as I have that mindset, I'll be good. I've just got to be aggressive. Be aggressive, good things happen, not just for myself but for my team. I was still able to dish off a couple of assists and get guys involved still. I've just got to have that mindset every single game."
James Harden now joins Lebron James and Russell Westbrook in being the only three players in the last 30 years of league history to scored at least 50 points and 10 assists in more than one game. Check out what Twitter was saying about James Harden’s incredible performance.
