A few weeks ago, prior to the Sixers vs Cavs game at the Quicken Loans Arena, a Sixers fan paid for a few billboards nearby the arena recruiting LeBron James to Philadelphia. The billboards featured sayings like "#PhillyWantsLeBron" and another that reads, "Complete The Process."
With the Cavs set to travel to Los Angeles this weekend for games against the Clippers and Lakers at Staples Center on Friday and Sunday, a Lakers fan decided to purchase a couple of purple and gold billboards of his own recruiting LeBron to L.A. According to Chris Walder of The Score, Lakers fan Jacob Emrani is responsible for the billboards and he actually purchased four that went up on Wednesday.
One of the advertisements includes the hashtag #LABron with a caption underneath that reads, "Cleveland & Philly. You can't compete with L.A." Another one of Amrani's pro-Lakers billboards reads, "Forget The Process, We Win Banners #LABron," and another depicts the Lakers' retired jersey numbers with James' number included.
The Cavs will take on the Clippers at Staples Center on Friday night but they'll remain in Los Angeles over the weekend as they face the Lakers on Sunday night. Cleveland is currently sitting in third place in the Eastern Conference with a 37-26 record, just a half game up on the fourth place Indiana Pacers.
