Being able to tell your electronics to send a text for you, set an alarm, write a note or place a call is something that's just wild if you really think about it. These new Alexa commercials - Amazon's "intelligent personal assistant" - have been on almost every network showing how you can tell the voice in the box to order you paper towels, play your curated playlist and tell you who's at your front door.
But with the wave of the latest artificial intelligence technology, comes some scary happenings that have left us shook. Many users have shared their stories of times that Alexa has randomly started laughing or simply not listened to commands that have been asked of her. One user tweeted how he was having an office conversation "about pretty confidential stuff and Alexa just laughed."
"It didn't chime as if we had accidentally triggered her to wake. She simply just laughed. It was really creepy," he added. Overall, Alexa buggin' out and other freaky stories you'll read about artificial intelligence gone wrong is all too familiar to the 1968 film 2001: A Space Odyssey and we're not with it.
