ScHoolboy Q shares some memories on the Gram.

Somehow, ScHoolboy Q has managed to slide under the radar.  Despite never truly exploding in the way label mate Kendrick Lamar did, Q has been delivering consistently excellent albums for a minute. His mix of gangsta rap, clever vernacular, and explosive delivery have made him one of my most checked-for emcees, a positioned bolstered by his hilarious and blunt off-mic persona. Q is quick to clown on fools, an endearing bully that's likely to take your weed the second you even think of coughing, but make you laugh while doing so. In fact, despite his sometimes unapologetic and brash nature, Q has earned legions of fans for his down-to-earth social media game.

Today, in honor of Throwback Thursday, Q threw up a couple of vintage pictures on Instagram. The first two find Q in the midst of his formative years, suited up and practicing a pose that would not look out of place on any nineties hip-hop album cover. The other childhook flick looks to be some sort of elementary school picture, in which Q rocks the blue and pink button down like a young boss.

Q also reminds us about a darker period of his life, sharing his old mugshot from an undisclosed crime. Luckily for the fans, Q seems to have put that period behind him, writing "NEVA WENT BACK after dis one lol." His sense of humor has always been one of ScHoolboy's best qualities as an entertainer, and it's cool to see that he doesn't always take himself so seriously.

And while this is clearly more of a lighthearted piece, Q is in fact rumored to be dropping an album this year. At the end of September, we reported that ScHoolboy's new album was "90 percent done," so hopefully we can be bumping some new Q come Christmastime.
