From November 23rd-26th, Portland, Oregon, will host PK80, a double-bracket basketball tournament honoring NIKE, Inc. founder Phil Knight’s 80th birthday. Additionally, Nike will be outfitting the players in special edition sneakers which draw on inspiration from Knight's signature sunglasses.
According to Nike, each team in the tournament will wear sneakers and uniforms inspired by Knight’s signature style. Known for his all-black outfits and sunglasses, Knight’s look is translated through all-black makeups of Nike's most popular signature shoes, including the Kyrie 3, PG1, Kobe AD and KD10, all of which feature iridescent highlights in an ode to Knight's shining shades.
North Carolina, the lone Jordan Brand program in the tournament, will wear a PK80 version of the Jordan 32 and Super.Fly 2017.
Other participating schools include include Arkansas, Butler, Connecticut, Duke, DePaul, Florida, Gonzaga, Michigan State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, Portland, Portland State, Stanford and Texas.
