In a surprising move that can be chalked up to difficulty in congress or damn near miracle, Donald Trump has backtracked on his wishes to repeal DACA. For those who not know, DACA is short for Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals. It was an immigration policy passed by the Obama administration in 2012, looking to protect individuals who entered the United States illegally as minors.

On the first day of his presidency, Donald Trump announced that he intended to repeal the protective act. His insistence along with his continued promise to build a wall along the Mexican border have raised concerns among second generation Americans who were even afraid to report flood damage during Hurricane Harvey.

Donald Trump's first tweet of the day was an easter greeting, followed by three additional tweets explaining his decision to back off on the controversial DACA deal, which he'd promised to sign since day one of his presidency. He blamed the Democrats for "Catch & Release' which essentially a rude way of describing a policy which grants people caught with unlawful immigration status a release before their hearing. He also blamed Mexican Authorities and reiterated his desire to build the wall. All in all, minus the petulance, this serves as a big victory for people of color in the United States.
