Donald Trump is making political headlines once again, as the current Commander in Chief admitted on Twitter that he intends to veto the omnibus spending bill that was passed in Senate overnight. His reasoning is that this new legislature does not fully support 800,000 Dreamers living in America, as well as his persistent bid to build a bordering Mexican wall. This has effectively put the government in shutdown once again.
Government funding will run out at midnight tonight; if Trump were to fully support his claims, this would be the first time he's vetoed anything during his presidential run thus far.
The White House has insisted that Trump still supported the bill, even though they could only grant $1.6 million of the $25 billion he'd been asking for in order to build his protective wall. Yesterday afternoon, Office of Management and Budget Director Mick Mulvaney confirmed that the POTUS would definitely sign the bill, telling reporters "the president will sign the bill because it funds his priorities."
Earlier this week, Trump voiced his support for the forthcoming bill on Twitter, which would have left Congress feeling a more content with their final decision.
