It's Friday. It's 2k18. What better time is there for you to follow our FIRE EMOJI playlist???
We've been building up our Spotify playlist, FIRE EMOJI, as a breeding ground for the dopest/best/hottest hip-hop and r'n'b songs that are out right now. We're always on the hunt for newest of the new (so long as it's fye) to add to it, while older songs are gradually curated out of the playlist and added to our massive/only-playlist-of-its-kind Archive -- if you have a couple of days to spare, give it a listen.
In an effort to keep your earbuds satisfied and keep up with the non-stop pace of the internetz, we update FIRE EMOJI on a daily basis, and we're sharing it with you every Friday, to help accommodate your weekend plans. If you didn't keep up with the site's daily songs list for the entire week, and we know it can be overwhelming (just check today's list, amirite!), then consider this a simple FYI on the songs you might have missed, and more importantly, the songs you really need in your life this weekend.
It's been a big day for album releases. Well, mainly for our good friend Tory Lanez, who unleashed his sophomore album, and although we were also anticipating the release of Carnage's album today, that one has a suffered a slight setback. Nonetheless, Tory's in good company: Skooly, Nessly, G.O.O.D Music newcomer Valee, Tech N9ne and more all dropped bodies of work today. With that being said, we've culled these albums for some must-listen cuts: Valee's opening record, Tech Ninna's rather melodic "No Reason," Tory Lanez's harrowing "Pieces" featuring 50 Cent, Skooly's bouncy collab with head honcho 2 Chainz. Beyond the choice album cuts you'll find below, there's two new releases from the boys of Rae Sremmurd, one of two new XXXTENTACION songs ("SAD!" was better), and of course, the new DJ Khaled record because Jay-Z, Beyonce and Future. That about sums it up.
The songs that follow are from the past week's daily updates and investigations for new heat, from both under the radar and above it.
