Wiz Khalifa doesn't have any shortage of music in the stash. The Pittsburgh rapper's been in the studio all year and continuously dropped projects and music whenever he feels like it. Earlier in the summer, he dropped two EP's within a few weeks of each other and has been continuously delivered guest verses since then. He's been teasing his forthcoming album Rolling Papers 2 for quite some time. However, he announced last night that he'd completed the album. While completion may just mean the recording aspect, there's always the behind-the-scenes industry stuff that needs to be handled before a commercial album gets delivered to the masses, which typically takes some time. However, it's looking like Wiz will be dropping something before then.
On Wiz' Instagram story, he posted a brief video previewing new music with the caption "Fucc It, Ima drop a tape before the album." So it's looking like Wiz will have something to tie us over before Rolling Papers 2 is delivered. Interestingly enough, he previously said that he would strictly be dropping the album without anything before that. It seems that his mind has changed.
The rapper's been steadily working in the studio throughout 2017 so it'll be interesting to see what collaborations and production credits land on the project. Wiz has a rare talent of being able to work with any artist and finding a comfort zone between their style and his. Throughout this year, he's popped up on records everybody from Dave East, Statik Selektah, Buddy, PartyNextDoor, Sosamann and of course, members from his Taylor Gang roster.
In addition to the stream of music he's delivered, he's also been diving into other avenues. It was recently announced that he'd be co-starring in an upcoming hip hop comedy on Netflix called "The After Party." The movie is set to also feature other notable artists taking on prominent roles including Kyle, Teyana Taylor and French Montana. The movie started filming during the weekend of Meadows Festival so it'll hopefully be released sometime in 2018.
