Schoolboy Q has been teasing his forthcoming album for the most part of 2017. First, we caught the TDE rapper working in the studio with producers like Alchemist & Zaytoven, before he informed us that he had 50 songs already recorded for the album back in June. He then said the album was 90% done back in September, but yet it doesn’t look like the album is dropping anytime soon. While we remain in the dark about the follow up Blank Face, Q decided to hop on his Instagram Story recently and share footage of him and ATL hitmaker Mike Willl Made It working on new music in the studio.
Unfortunately there’s no word yet if this a song off his upcoming album or just some experimental sounds while cooking up in the studio, but at the very least it’s nice to see these back working together. The two previously linked up on records like “My Hatin Joint” & “Sh!t” remix with Diddy & Future in the past. If I had to guess, I’d say the collab will eventually make its way onto Q’s upcoming album, but that's just speculation at this moment.
As for the song itself, we don’t get to hear too much other than Q rapping “Drop the ball nigga WHERE/ Take a loss nigga WHERE,” while emphasizing the “where” in his raps, but the beat sounds fire & unique.
If the collab is indeed real & on the way, it will be just the latest in a long line of produced records for Mike Will Made It this year. The ATL super producer has already worked with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Young Dolph, Future, Young Thug, YG, Rae Sremmurd, Yo Gotti, & more on records this year. He definitely aint slowing down anytime soon either.
Check out the footage of Q & Mike Will in the studio (below) and let us know what you think of it! We’ll continue to keep you posted while we wait for info on Q’s upcoming album.
