In case you missed it Friday, news surfaced online that PartyNExtDoor was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance. Apparently, the OVO singer and his friend were busted at the US/Canada border with both Xanax and Oxycodone found in their possession. The arrest happened early Thursday morning when two were on a tour bus heading back to the U.S. when the bus was stopped for an inspection.
While Party and his friend were cited and eventually released from jail, fans were waiting to hear what the Toronto singer had to say about the arrest, and on Friday night he finally spoke out… kinda. Taking to Instagram, Party mocked his arrest with a picture of him holding his hands in the air together and said the only chains on his wrist were with diamonds.
“The only chains on these wrists have diamonds on them. Boston was fun tonight, on my way to Philly. #SEVENDAYS out now. #PositivityTourWontStop,” he captioned his IG. He also mentioned that “Boston was fun tonight,” reiterating that he isn’t missing a beat on the road right now with Halsey. If you’re interested in seeing them live, peep tour dates right here to see if they’re in a city near you.
The arrest comes just a week after Party released his Seven Days EP, featuring Rick Ross & Halsey.

Don’t think this recent arrest will affect his musical output either. Before surprising us with his Seven Days EP last week, the OVO singer was preparing a new album called Club Atlantis, which we’ve been anticipating for the past few months now. Rumors suggested that the album would be dropping this Fall, but we’ll have to play the waiting game to find out. For now though, enjoy Seven Days right here, and read out review of it here.
