Kidd Kidd is a New Orleans staple, although he doesn't make an appearance on the HNHH pages every day. He's had his fair share of career ups and downs, although the ups are way up there-- he's been co-signed by Lil Wayne and 50 Cent, so it's clear there is something special about Kidd Kidd. 50 Cent went so far as to add him to the G-Unit line-up when the New York collective was vying for a comeback, although that hype has since died down.
Kidd Kidd's last mixtape, Peanut From Mazant, dropped in February of this year, and went severely under-the-radar. Hopefully he'll have more eyes in his direction as he warms up fans for his next release, Unquestionable, which is set to drop under Kidd's own label, RLLNR Ent. Arriving in December, the rapper revealed the tracklist today and delivered the lead single "V.I.P." The only features to speak of come from this song's producer-- Quakin Beatz.
Kicking off with the sound of gunfire and an operatic vocal sample, it's a lofty but hard-hitting banger. "Murder music," as Kidd Kidd says-- it's not the V.I.P. section you're thinking of. Kidd Kidd uses an abrupt flow, cutting off each sentence early before moving to the next bar. A bit later he slows it down and slurs it up, before immediately picking up the pace. The flows are forever changing. Are you feeling it?
Quotable Lyrics
I don't feel no n*gga cause they bleed like me
Taking head shots like it's for your I.D.
Had the block taped off like it's V.I.P. n*gga
