New Orleans rapper Pell has been quiet since the release of his 2015 project Limbo. Today, however, he breaks the silence with a brand new EP called Girasoul. The EP may be short, but it packs a soulful punch as Pell kicks knowledge over production from himself, Billy DeLelles, Rahki, Imad Royal, and Roget Chahayed. Keeping the roster relatively low-key, Pell ensures an original sound throughout, with low-key break beats on "lately," and the smooth optimism of Saba assisted "throwback." Lyrically, Pell has elements of Chance The Rapper, Kyle, and Anderson Paak, so if you're a fan of those artists, you might want to consider checking this out.
Unfortunately, the project is relatively brief, but there are definitely some strong moments throughout. Show Pell some support and give Girasoul a listen.
