With exception to a couple loose singles & videos this Summer, including “Good Problem” and “One Year Later,” K Camp has been relatively quiet since he dropped off his K.I.S.S. 4 mixtape back in March, but thankfully that’s about to change come Friday when the sequel to 2014’s Slum Lords mixtape arrives. The 15-song mixtape will feature guest appearances from Rich The Kid, Verse Simmonds, Moneybagg Yo & more, but before it arrives in less than 24 hours from now, the ATL crooner decides to treat fans to a new offering from it. Following up his latest release “’97” with Rich The Kid, K Camp comes through today and share a new video for his new song “Family Matters.”
Going in over the Bobby Kritical-produced beat, K Camp delivers a bouncy & melodic new record that finds him calling out the haters & fakes who aint “fuckin with him.” “These niggas ain't fuckin' with me, You'll never catch no suckas with me/ I ain't met a nigga fuckin' with me, These niggas ain't fuckin' with me,” he croons on the chorus. Highlighted by its bouncy flow & catchy vibe, “Family Matters” is another strong addition to K Camp’s steady growing catalogue or hits, and all the more reason to get excited for Slum Lords 2 to arrive.
As for the video, it’s a grainy visual that finds K Camp chillen with the homies at a condo, before making it rain on some ladies and dancers who came to tackle the pole in this Jerrell Lamar-directed clip above. It follows up his latest video for “One Year Later,” which we had the privilege of exclusively premiering last month on HNHH's YT channel.
Check out the official video (above) and let us know what you think. Slum Lords 2 is available now for pre-order on iTunes, and drops later tonight at midnight. Stay tuned.
Quotable Lyrics:
Was in LA for a minute
Then I came back to the city
Copped the watch then I dropped 50
In the drop push a buck 50
I got hoes that I kept around
I got some that I let go
Fill the wood with the petro
Misunderstood and I'm cutthroat
