Ronda Rousey and her boyfriend of almost two years, fellow MMA fighter Travis Browne, tied the knot in Hawaii over the weekend while the rest of the planet was tuned in to the Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor fight in Las Vegas.
Travis, 35, and Rousey, 30, both took to Instagram on Tuesday to share photos of the ceremony, as did photographer Michael Mardones, who attended as a guest.
Ronda Rousey's marriage to Travis Browne comes just eight months after she suffered a 48-second loss at the hands of the reigning UFC Women's Bantemweight champion, Amanda Nunes, back in December. The fight against Nunes was Ronda's first time back in the octagon after 13-month absence that followed her first career loss to Holly Holm in November of 2015, after which she revealed she had suicidal thoughts.
UFC President Dana White, who broke the news of Rousey's wedding date during an appearance on the Rich Eisen Show last week, says she's in a good place now, though. White says he was invited to the wedding, but couldn't attend because of that aforementioned boxing match that fell on the same day.
White told Rich Eisen, per Daily Mail,
'Ronda Rousey gets married tomorrow,' he told the host. 'Tomorrow is her wedding. She’s in a good place, she’s really happy and she hasn’t announced her retirement or anything like that, but she’s focusing on this wedding.
'She gets married [tomorrow], of all the days,' he continued. She was like, "I’m getting married. . . . Will you come to the wedding?" I said, "Absolutely." The wedding's tomorrow.'
Rousey has yet announced her retirement from the sport but many expect her UFC career is over.
