Chris Brown delivers a sensual single in "Confidence."

Chris Brown is clearly in his October feelings. For his upcoming album Heartbreak on a Full Moon, the multi-talented singer has eschewed the traditional Friday album release date in favor of a spookier Halloween drop. If you haven’t already made plans to go trick-or-treating, you might want to take some time out of your busy evening to indulge in Chris Brown’s potential magnum opus. And to be fair, you’ll need quite a bit of time to do it; the project is a staggering forty-five tracks long, with guest appearances from Lil Yachty, R. Kelly, Gucci Mane, Usher, and more.

As for the latest drop, “Confidence” finds Chris over an instrumental from the collective minds of Cardiak, A1, Goldiie, Yung Berg and Soundz. It’s an up-tempo, yet relatively low key banger, reminiscent of Mr. Probz’ “Waves.” Gentle guitar arpeggios are the driving force of the beat, and Chris delivers impassioned pleas for “confidence.” However, Chris is always about that grown man business, delivering sensual lyrics like “we might not make it to the room, from right here, I love it when you tell me what to do, like sit right there.”

Overall, the track is perfect for radio, and has potential to be a late-year hit. And while it’s not as immediate as some of his other singles, “Confidence” has the charm of a slow burn, and Chris has plenty of time to make an impression with his powerful vocals.

While the single is only available in select international markets, there’s little doubt that the more resourceful Breezy fans have already managed to give this one a listen. Remember that Chris Brown’s Heartbreak On A Full Moon drops Halloween, so check back then for more Chris Brown music than you can consume in a single sitting.

Quotable Lyrics

We might not make it to the room, from right here,
I love it when you tell me what to do, like sit right there
