6ix9ine has been on a tear of late, dropping off hit after hit on the Billboard charts. Now, it would appear he has decided to consolidate his efforts and come through with a full-length album. "I CANT STOP MAKING HITS," writes 6ix9ine, in an Instagram announcement. "YESTERDAY I GOT IN THE STUDIO AND I SAID “YOU KNOW WHAT” IM PUTTIN OUT A PROJECT NOVEMBER 23RD ‼️‼️‼️ NOVEMBER 23 ‼️ IS THE DAY NOTHING BUT FUCKING BILLBOARD HITS‼️"
The rainbow wonder has made no secret of his affinity for crafting Billboard hits, leaving many wondering whether his project game is equally proficient. In truth, DAY 69 feels more like a collection of scattered thoughts than a cohesive album. Perhaps his upcoming endeavor will introduce a new element of artistry to his toolkit.
In the accompanying video, 6ix9ine previews a Scott Storch banger, which appears to feature Tory Lanez. Though the clip largely centers around Tory's chorus, we do get a chance to hear 6ix9ine's verse, which finds him once again employing his aggressive delivery. As for the production, Storch's instrumental is evocative of Kodak's "ZEZE," or 50 Cent's "P.I.M.P" for those seeking an older frame of reference. Love him or hate him, it should be exciting to see a full length project from the divisive rapper; after all, albums are the cornerstone to longevity.
Stay tuned for a new 6ix9ine album, dropping November 23rd.
