Quavo is still morning the tragic death of his nephew, TakeOff.

Quavo has yet another tribute planned for his late nephew. The rapper has revealed that his forthcoming solo album, Rocket Power, will be dedicated to TakeOff. During an Instagram Live on May 11, he played some new tracks from the album for fans. Quavo interrupted the stream briefly to check out the NFL's season schedule drop but returned to continue playing the music. After the live stream, the rapper posted a picture of TakeOff on Instagram. There, he called him a "king" and used the rocket emoji that TakeOff had previously used to promote his own 2018 solo album, The Last Rocket.

TakeOff, Quavo's nephew, was shot and killed in Houston, Texas, last November. The rapper has previously paid tribute to TakeOff on social media. He has now dedicated his upcoming solo project to him, as well. The album, Rocket Power, is Quavo's first solo release since his 2018 album, QUAVO HUNCHO. The Migos member did not announce a release date for Rocket Power. However, he did teased plenty of new tracks during the Instagram Live, which has since been viewed by thousands of his fans.

He was caught in the crossfire of a dice game that Quavo and other men were involved in. After an altercation, the game quickly turned violent and resulted in a tragic shooting.

In January, Quavo released the single "Without You," which he performed at the 2023 Grammy Awards with a photo of TakeOff displayed in the background. Later, the rapper dropped another tribute to his late nephew and collaborator called "Greatness." This new solo project will Quavo's first since his debut solo effort Quavo Huncho in 2018.
