Young Thug's attorney confirmed his release from medical facilities after experiencing chest pains. Reports emerged on Thursday (May 11th) that the authorities rushed the Atlanta artist to a hospital before his expected court appearance. However, at the time, it was unclear what health-related problems he was facing. According to 11 Alive, Thug experienced chest pains before getting treatment from Grady Hospital. Fortunately, he has since been released following an evaluation and is now expected to appear in court today (May 12).
The attorney for Young Thug, Keith Adams, told Judge Ural Glanville that he was unaware of Thug’s condition. He added that he didn’t expect the rapper to appear in court for Thursday’s hearing. “I’ve asked the sheriff’s department if I’d be able to make contact with Mr. Williams. If I’d be able to see him at Grady,” Adams explained. “They said probably not. I do know that he’s had some difficulty of a similar sort at the Cobb County Jail a few months ago.”
Young Thug Released From Hospital
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of Thug facing issues related to his health behind bars. The 31-year-old rap star’s other attorney, Brian Steel, filed a fourth motion for bond last month. The attorney stated that court schedule leaves the rapper sleep-deprived regularly. Steel explained Thug had to wake up 4 or 5 a.m. for court. However, he doesn’t get back to the detention center until late at night. Ultimately, Steel argued that its hindered Thug’s ability to properly prepare for court. Additionally, Thug reportedly has access to few healthy food options.
Thug has been in custody for nearly a year at this point. He, alongside Gunna, were arrested as part of a sweeping RICO indictment involving alleged members of YSL. Prosecutors claim the alleged street gang is affiliated with the Bloods. Officials claim Young Thug is the “head” of the organized street gang. One prosecutor alleged, “He's the one they're all afraid of, he's the one that's King Slime.” However, his attorneys claim that prosecutors targetted Thug because of his art. We’ll keep you posted on further updates surrounding Young Thug’s case.
