Since Tay-K's "The Race" became a viral sensation, it seems like every rapper has remixed the song. We've seen it with Tyga, Lil Yachty, Chevy Woods, Corner Boy P and many more. Today, Remy Boyz have taken the opportunity to put their own spin on it.
The video opens up with Fetty Wap and Monty chilling at a table while their people are smoking around them. Monty opens up the track yelling "Free Tay-K" before hitting the song with a similar flow to the incarcerated rapper. Fetty hits the second verse with a more gutter tone to his flow. While his commercial success is due to his penchant for melodies, Fetty leaves the auto-tune off on this one. The rapper comes through delivering straight forward bars filled with attitude. While Remy Boyz don't have the same story as Tay-K did when he made "The Race", the two rappers keep a similar street attitude in their approach.
Fetty Wap has been continuing his streak as the go-to for hooks. He recently collaborated with DJ ENVY for the first single off of his project "Text Ur Number" and the two teamed up to put out a really dope video for it last week. Alongside the big single with DJ ENVY, he's also been consistently putting out his own music and working with other artists. Earlier in August, he linked up with Monty once again for their single "There She Go" and afterwards, released a collaboration with Fabolous and Red Cafe called "Jack Pot." Hopefully with the rate he's going at, we'll be receiving a new project from him in the near future. The rapper has been teasing his project King Zoo for a while. Back in May, he released "Aye" as the album's first single so it seems as if he has something up his sleeve for the coming months.
