The upcoming sequel to to 2012’s Alien prequel Prometheus is slowly nearing its release date, and last night we got our best look at the cast for Alien: Covenant. An almost five-minute long prologue aired last night before FX’s Marvel show Legion, showing the crew enjoying one final night together before the enter cryosleep and being their colonization mission.
Stars abound in the segment, which features Michael Fassbender, Billy Crudup, Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride and James Franco. It’s hard to see the last two on screen together without assuming we’re going to be watching an over-the-top comedy movie, but they keep things pretty straight. Danny McBride pretty much plays the same character in everything though, and this is no different.
As if the happy scene didn’t need any more foreboding, 20th Century Fox decided title call it “The Last Supper.” Just in case we didn’t know everyone was going to be eaten by Xenomorphs. Alien: Covenant is slated for release on May 19. It’s being directly by Ridley Scott’s son, Luke Scott. How bad do you want to see James Franco get devoured by a giant alien?
