The singer is taking an unscheduled break.

Lizzo's insane schedule may finally be catching up with her. Between rushing to New York to attend the Met Gala to touring around the continent, she's kept pretty busy. The artist is currently in the midst of the second leg of her Special tour. It started at the Thompson-Boling Arena in Knoxville, TN. During the show's climax, she brought several drag queens from the area onstage to perform with her. It was a bold and daring act of defiance against the current legal situation surrounding drag in the state. Despite the ban, reports indicate that the local drag scene is thriving. Lizzo's actions serve as evidence of this.

Lizzo took to social media to share the moment with her followers. She expressed gratitude towards the drag queens for showcasing their pride in Tennessee. The singer captioned the video with a rainbow of hearts, and her fans and fellow queens flooded the comments with heartfelt messages, clearly moved by Lizzo's actions. Lizzo's tour will take her to Memphis, Tennessee, as well as Missouri and Louisiana. Missouri is currently trying to pass a law that would criminalize adult cabaret performances on public property, while Louisiana, being a conservative-leaning state, may see anti-drag legislation in the future.

Lizzo's Unscheduled Break

Lizzo's busy schedule seems to be impacting her health, as evidenced by recent events. Despite being on tour and performing at major events such as the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the 2023 Met Gala, she was unable to perform at her scheduled concert in Montreal due to health concerns. Initially, news of her flu-like symptoms was shared on Twitter, but her profile is now private. In a video posted on her official Instagram, Lizzo apologized to her fans and confirmed that she would not be performing.

“I had a sore throat last night and a headache and went to bed,” Lizzo said in the video. “I woke up this morning, and my body is weak, and I have chills, and my head hurts. Normally, if it’s just a cold, I’d shower, I’d eat, take some medicine, and it gets better. But this is getting worse." Lizzo remained apologetic throughout the video, telling fans that she would find a new day to play the city. "I think it’s the flu, and I have to make the unfortunate decision to cancel today. I want to find a date to reschedule, but I just can’t perform tonight." Stay tuned to HNHH for more updates on Lizzo's tour.
