Steve Harvey recently sat down with Shannon Sharpe for an interview in which he reflected on his infamous Miss Universe Pageant mishap. Back in 2015, Harvey initially announced Ariadna Gutiérrez of Colombia as the new Miss Universe but had to return to the stage and apologize, noting that Gutiérrez was actually the 1st runner-up. Instead, Pia Wurtzbach of the Philippines was the true winner.
Harvey explained to Sharpe that someone behind the scenes wanted to change the way the winners were announced. Thus, they gave him the names in a different order than he was expecting and he got confused. At first, the producers told him to wait until the next day to issue the correction, but he decided to go back out and address it then and there. “Stupidest shit I ever did!”, he said to Shannon Sharpe. “I should’ve let them fix it in the news. My stupid ass walked right out there and took the full hit man. I took it dead in the teeth, like it was all my fault, but it wasn’t.”

From there, Harvey remarked that he still has security due to the multiple death threats he received from the Colombians. On this note, several fans commented on a repost of the clip from The Neighborhood Talk. "The fact the cartel was coming for him is an issue for me," one user wrote. Another commented, "Phew them Colombians don’t play! He’s going to have security for life!"
Elsewhere in the interview, Shannon Sharpe and Steve Harvey discussed Harvey's career, divorce and past marriages, fitness and health, Harvey's daughter Lori, and more. Check out a clip from the discussion as shared by The Neighborhood Talk below.
