Congrats to the "Black Beatles" -- aka the Rae Sremmurd bros, Gucci Mane, and Mike Will Made-It -- for selling 5 million singles.
Who knew the song would be such a smash? "Black Beatles" appeared on Rae Sremmurd's SremmLife 2 and was released as a single a month after the album. The historic music video dropped a week later. Then came the social media phenomenon known as the Mannequin Challenge, which often used "Black Beatles" as its soundtrack. One of those to participate in the stunt was one of two living members of The Fab Four. "Love those Black Beatles," tweeted Sir Paul McCartney.
"Black Beatles" rose to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 -- becoming both Rae Sremmurd and Gucci Mane's first No. 1 single -- at the end of November. The song would go on to spend 7 nonconsecutive weeks with the No. 1 spot.
Guwop shared a picture of himself holding the 5x platinum plaque, standing next to Mike -- his day-one producer. Mike Will Made-It, Gucci Mane slayed it.
