The third season of "Euphoria" could be jumping ahead five years.

Euphoria could be jumping ahead five years with its upcoming third season, according to costume designer Heidi Bivens. Bivens spoke about the plans for HBO's hit series during a recent interview with Vogue. Although she admits she hasn't read any scripts for the next episodes, Bivens discussed what she's been hearing about the direction of the story.

"I’ll do everything I can to make the third season of the show successful," Bivens said. "I’m really excited to read the scripts. There is talk of it being approximately five years in the future, and that they’re not in high school anymore. Dorothy’s not in Kansas anymore. I mean, it might be a total trip. Who can say? But knowing Sam’s brain, it’s gonna be exciting, and he will challenge all of us, because he won't want to repeat himself. It’ll be something new for the audience to discover."

This isn't the first time the idea of a season 3 time jump has been put forward. Zendaya also recently stated that she thinks moving out of high school would be a good idea for the story.

Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Zendaya explained: "I think it’ll be exciting to explore the characters out of high school. I want to see what Rue looks like in her sobriety journey, how chaotic that might look. But also with all the characters, in the sense where they’re trying to figure out what to do with their lives when high school is over and what kind of people they want to be. What was special about this season was that we got to dive into [the other characters] in a much deeper sense. I think we can do that again with the third season. There’s so much talent, you want to make sure everybody has the chance to have that." There is still no release date for the highly-anticipated third installment of Euphoria.
