Jeremy Renner has shared some heartbreaking details about his January accident.

The reports that Jeremy Renner was in critical condition following a New Year's Day accident with a snowplow shocked the entertainment industry. Renner was able to assure fans of his safety a few days later. However, the story remains an incredibly tragic one. Renner has been recuperating ever since and has recently started to open up about the accident. In late January, he revealed on social media that he had broken 30 bones in the accident. The 911 call regarding his accident was also made public.

This progress includes an upcoming interview with Diane Sawyer that was previewed on Good America. The brief footage shown really hit home what Renner had experienced. In an emotional conversation, that often saw Renner tear up as he confronted the horrible accident that had befallen him, he was able to share some of the more personal details about what he had gone through. This included testimony about his thoughts and actions immediately after the accident.

Jeremy Renner Says He Wrote Down His Last Words

"If I had been there on my own, that would have been a horrible way to die", Renner is seen telling Sawyer. However, when Renner was run over by the 14,300lb snowcat, he had been out with his nephew Alex. "But I wasn't alone. I was with my nephew, Sweet Alex, and then the rest of the calvary arrived", Renner said. The preview then shows Renner revealing one of the most heart-breaking details of the incident, from his perspective.

"I was writing down notes in my phone", Renner says fighting back emotion, "as last words to my family". However, thanks to the efforts of nearby family members, Renner was airlifted to a hospital in Reno. He underwent surgery on January 2 and was able to post on social media on January 3. According to Renner, he was released from hospital on January 17. While Renner has begun to open up about the incident that occurred on New Year's Day, it is still a painful subject for him. Furthermore, it is clear from the interview preview alone that it is something that he will stick with him for a very long time.
