Flying Lotus is about to debut his debut film Kuso at Sundance. He revealed the trailer today. All the usual FlyLo words come to mind: experimental, trippy, imaginative, genius, insane.
The premise of Kuso is this: "Broadcasting through a makeshift network of discarded televisions, Kuso is tangled up in the aftermath of Los Angeles' worst quake nightmare. Travel between screens and between aftershocks into the twisted lives of the survived."
The film stars Hannibal Buress, Anders Holm, Donnell Rawlings, Zach Fox, and George Clinton. It features music from Flying Lotus, Aphex Twin, Akira Yamaoka, Thundercat, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, Kamasi Washington, Busdriver, and more.
Flying Lotus has said that Kuso is inspired by “pretty much everything I'm afraid of.” Watch the absurd, amazing trailer below.
